A vacuum and mop robot is the machine most likely to earn its place in a Dubai apartment, for a reason that has nothing to do with robotics: the floors are hard, flat and pale, and the dust is relentless. This is close to the ideal environment for these machines.
What matters here, and what does not
- Mopping matters more than suction. On marble and porcelain, fine dust turns into a film that a vacuum alone smears around. The models worth having mop with hot water and wash their own pads.
- A self emptying dock matters. Fine dust fills a small onboard bin in a day. Without a dock you will be emptying it constantly, which defeats the point.
- Suction figures matter least. Every brand now quotes an enormous pascal number. Past a point it changes nothing on a hard floor, and it is the specification most used to justify a price.
About the robotic arm. The flagship model has a genuine arm and it is genuinely limited: it recognises a closed list of object types and refuses anything over about 300 grams. It moves a sock or a slipper out of its path. It does not tidy your house, and anyone selling it to you as a tidying robot is setting you up for a refund.

The same flagship has been listed in Dubai anywhere between 6,499 and 9,499 AED depending on the shop, against an international price of roughly 4,800 to 5,900. That gap is worth understanding before you buy.
The stairs question
No robot vacuum climbs stairs. The most capable model on the market clears an obstacle of about four centimetres, and a residential step is fifteen to twenty two. In a two floor villa you need one machine per floor, and any salesperson who tells you otherwise has not read the datasheet.
